Our Equality Objectives

Our equality objectives are to:

• Promote understanding, respect and positive relationships through the curriculum and wider school experiences, helping pupils to value diversity and challenge prejudice and discrimination.
• Promote equality of access to wider opportunities, including clubs, activities, trips and enrichment, and monitor participation to identify and address any barriers for particular groups of pupils.
• Promote positive attitudes towards disability and develop pupils’ understanding of disability, difference and inclusion through the curriculum and wider school life.
• Promote equality of educational opportunity and outcomes by monitoring the achievement and progress of different groups of pupils and taking appropriate action where areas of inequality or underachievement are identified.
• Improve accessibility of information and communication for parents and carers, making reasonable adjustments where required to help families access school information and participate fully in school life.
• Continue to improve the accessibility of the school environment for pupils, parents, carers, staff and visitors, identifying and addressing barriers wherever reasonably possible.
