At Gamesley Primary and Nursery School, we have a Local Governing Board (LGB) that works closely with the Executive Headteacher and Head of School to support and challenge the school, helping to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.
Gamesley Primary and Nursery School is proud to be part of Victorious Academies Trust. The Trust delegates specific responsibilities to the Local Governing Board through its Scheme of Delegation, enabling governors to play an important role in supporting the school and helping to drive continuous improvement.
The Local Governing Board is vital to the successful running of our school. Governors bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience from the local community and beyond. Parent Governors are elected by parents and carers and play an important role in representing the views of the school community.
The Governors’ Role
The Local Governing Board is responsible for:
- Supporting the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- Holding the Executive Headteacher and Head of School to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
- Supporting continuous school improvement and helping to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
